An Introduction

Witness Dark Summer...

Dark Summer is a third person role-playing adventure where you take the role of Devin Smith, an imaginative, but otherwise ordinary thirteen year old boy.  You find yourself thrown into a strange adventure that explores a wide range of scenarios and events.

Starting in a small town called Nearmyer, you must continue to lead a fairly normal life without drawing to much attention. The story progresses over the course of 3 days and what the player discovers is, let's say, unfortunate...

The adventure starts when you are in school for the last day of the sixth grade.  You were forced to move to this town and live with your uncle David because of domestic problems at home.  You attend the local school to make friends before summer begins.  This doesn't go too well because of the unwelcome feeling you get from most of the children and faculty.

On the last day of school, at the start of class, you find a note in your desk.  It’s a hand written letter telling you to meet a boy at his tree fort west of the school deep in the forest. You wonder if this might be a trick by the kids, but no one is laughing.  The note reads:

Devin, you may not remember me, but it doesn’t matter. I heard you were in town and this was the answer to my prayers. I need you to go into the Black Oak forest behind the school - I have a tree fort in the northwest part. I'm hiding here from everyone and everything, please come... I have something to tell you about and I need your help. Something big is going on, but I don't know what it is…

- Brian

This letter seemed very odd.  You have no idea who this person is, and certainly don’t know what he’s talking about, but prank or not, it sounds like fun to find a tree fort in the woods.  You tell yourself after school you will investigate this forest and try to find the tree fort…

And so begins the story...
